Youth Programs

Goodwill of Silicon Valley is actively engaged in developing brighter futures for the youth in Santa Clara County by operating several programs designed to serve youth at over 15 school locations in Santa Clara County.

ASSETs

(After School Safety and Enrichment for Teens)

This program is entirely funded by the United States Department of Education through the 21st Century Community Learning grant.   Provide various After-school tutoring classes in Math, Science, English, and SAT Prep.   Provide opportunities to make up graduation credits and help students with homework support and tutoring.  Plus, provide enrichment activities for students, which include the following:

  •  Cultural and Modern Dance
  • Physical Activity
  • Journalism
  • Driver’s Education
  • Music
  • Sports
  • Student Leadership
  • College and Career Support
  • Robotics
  • Driver’s Ed

GoodHealth

is weekly health education classes for Students with special needs.  Curriculum includes:

  • Personal hygiene
  • Personal relationships
  • Sex education
  • Substance Abuse Prevention
  • Personal Health Management
  • Nutrition and Oral Health
  • Contribute to monthly High School Community Based Activities to help improve social skills, mobility training, and recreational education
  • Provide two major events- Career Fair and Health Fair for Post Senior Students
  • Work experience and mobility training opportunities’ to the Goodwill Stores, GoodHealth Garden at Goodwill HQ or various community outreach programs
  • Provide GoodHealth interns with experience working in the community and health education
