Supported Employment
The Supported Employment
Program provides specialized assistance to clients with developmental
disabilities in preparing for, choosing, getting,
and keeping paid employment in the community and consists
of the following phases:
Job Search
Preparation
|

The Initial Assessment Interview:
an opportunity to mutually evaluate appropriateness of
this program for an individuals needs and desires. |
|
|
|
|
Evaluation Phase: attend
Job Skills Training Class, determine and/or set goals towards
development of job readiness. |
|
|
|
|
Adjustment Phase: if
determined necessary, set individualized, achievable goals
with time frames to address roadblocks to becoming successfully
employed and continue to attend Job Skills Training Class. |
|
|
|
|
Pre-placement Phase:
assistance with resume preparation, area canvassing, long
and short-term career considerations, application collection
and completion, and the employment interview. |
|
|
|
|
Placement Phase: assistance
with understanding of the employment offer: wage, hours, start
date, benefits, supervisor, job duties, extent of job coaching
assistance, transportation details. |
|
|
|
|
Job Coaching: on-the-job
training as needed, gradually fading in intensity, with additional
services to include monthly progress reports and comprehensive
semi-annual and annual reviews of job performance, job satisfaction,
and other job-related issues. |
